Jessie has been dancing since she was just four years old, starting out with a weekly ballet class. These days, she trains five times a week, taking lessons in ballet, tap, modern, acro, and musical theatre.

She began entering competitions at the age of five and now has an impressive collection of 17 medals for placing in her age categories. Jessie competes in the open sections for ballet, and at a recent event, she was awarded trophies for highest mark in ballet and most promising classical dancer. She was also invited to perform again in the prestigious Adjudicator’s Showcase.

In January this year, Jessie attended an open day at the Academy of Northern Ballet in Leeds. She loved it so much that she decided to apply for the Northern Ballet Associates programme. After sending off lots of photos, she was invited to audition in March alongside hundreds of other hopefuls.

Three weeks later, Jessie was over the moon to receive a letter offering her a place in the Junior Foundation Associate class, starting this September.

Jessie will train at Northern Ballet during the week, and she’s especially excited about dancing in their stunning studios, having lessons accompanied by a live pianist, and making lots of new friends.

We are all super proud of Jessie and her achievements.
