We are delighted to announce that we have had two nominations in the Celebrating Early Years event hosted by Nottinghamshire County Council; Carolyn Preston, who was nominated for the exceptional practitioner award and our early years team nominated in the outstanding teams category.

Carolyn has been working at Bracken Lane Primary Academy for over 30 years and has dedicated herself to enriching the lives of the children who attend. She is a mentor and coach who also works with SEND children. She encourages children to flourish by creating engaging environments where children can express their individuality and challenge themselves.

Carolyn said the nomination means a lot to her “I’ve worked at Bracken Lane in early years for 31 years, so it lovely to be recognised for all the hard work and commitment I’ve given the children over the years. I was very touched to be nominated and I feel proud to work with such a fantastic early years team.”

The early years team was nominated for being “collaborative, innovative, reflective, hardworking, committed and making learning fun and engaging for all children”. Principal Helen Cawkill said “we are so proud of the work all of our team do here at Bracken Lane Primary Academy, and are thrilled to have the opportunity to see some of them recognised for their outstanding contribution and the incredible impact this has on the lives of the children they care for”
